How we count patio-friendly days
Each city page averages ten years (2016–2025) of daily National Weather Service observations from the city’s main weather station. A day counts as patio-friendly when the high is between 65°F and 88°F, there’s less than 0.05″ of rain, and the average wind stays under about 14 mph. It’s a deliberately simple yardstick — shade, heaters and a sheltered courtyard all stretch it — but it’s a fair way to compare months and cities.
